Healthcare Governance Limited (HGL) provides a range of education, training and consulting services designed to enhance the performance and accountability of healthcare systems and organisations through better governance. HGL is directed and managed by Stuart Emslie, who is a member of the Institute of Healthcare Management.

 

Stuart is also assistant director of the London Centre for Corporate Governance and Ethics at Birkbeck, University of London, and visiting fellow in healthcare governance and risk at Loughborough University Business School. He is formerly Department of Health Head of Controls Assurance for the NHS in England.

 

Stuart holds a bachelor’s degree, with honours, in mechanical engineering from the University of Strathclyde (1984) and a master’s degree, with distinction, in corporate governance and ethics from the University if London (2007).
